Plaatje sleutelbeen verwijderd

Twee weken geleden is besloten om het plaatje wat aan mijn rechtersleutelbeen is geschroefd te verwijderen omdat ik klachten bleef houden. En het plaatje heeft z’n functie inmiddels gehad. Gisteren was het zover en in 35 minuten zijn naast het plaatje ook zeven van de acht schroeven eruit gehaald. Schroef nummer 8 was destijds als eerste geplaatst om twee van de drie botdelen aan elkaar te schroeven. Daarna kon het plaatje er pas op geschoefd worden om het totaal aan sleutelbeen vast te zetten. Schroef 8 is in de afgelopen maanden volledig door nieuw bot bedekt en hoeft er niet uit. Misschien interessant voor archeologen over 2000 jaar.

Voor de statistieken: het plaatje is 13,9 cm lang en de schroeven varieren van 1,4 tot 2 cm. Vandaag heb ik een dagje vrij om te recupereren en morgen ga ik weer aan het werk. Gelukkig hebben we dan de foto’s nog.

Vandaag een aardig stukje gelezen over de vooroordelen die (vooral) managers hebben over IT-ers. En dan hebben we  het over  de stereo-typering dat “IT-personeel doorgaans bestaat uit sociaal brakke nerds met een ego-probleem”. Ik heb dit soort uitspraken laatst nog uit de mond van een recent in mijn bedrijf aangenomen manager gehoord. Toen ben ik dan ook heel boos geworden.

Oktober, herfstbladeren wind en regen. Dit betekent over het algemeen ook het einde van het seizoen op de weg.Eveneens tijd voor bezinning. In de afgelopen jaren heb ik voornamellijk alleen getraind (na m’n werk) en ik kreeg ineens het gevoel dat ik dit anders wil gaan doen in het komende seizoen. Het trainen in m’n eentje afwisselen met het rijden in een leuke en tevens redelijk snelle groep. Zoekend op internet kwam ik de Toer Club Tilburg ’93 tegen en afgelopen zaterdag heb ik samen met een aantal jongens van hen een ritje gemaakt door het Brabantse. Heel erg leuk en gezellig. Het smaakt naar meer. Er is veel afwisseling te vinden binnen de club. Meerdere groepen met verschillende snelheden, rijden op zaterdag, zondag, dinsdag en donderdag. MTB in de winter. En er zijn zoveel leden dat er altijd wel iemand is. Volgens mij kan ik hierdoor mijn trainingen lekker afwisselen en ook verbeteren. En de kleur van het shirt is ook nog eens mooi, dat zie je niet vaak. Perfect.

Bekruipt me dan toch het gevoel dat ik dit eerder had moeten doen, aanmelden bij een tourclub. Nu Elles en ik steeds serieuzer worden met het zoeken van een huis in Den Bosch weet ik nog niet of het verstandig is me aan te melden bij TCT’93. Speurend naar naar wielerclubs in Den Bosch kom ik bedrogen uit! Ik kan niets vinden wat enigzins op TCT93 lijkt. Hoe kan dat nou toch? Moet ik dan zelf een club gaan oprichten in Den Bosch? Pfoe, die tijd besteed ik liever aan trainen..

Overslagpols en melkzuurgehalte

Tijdens een Fiets Ergometer test wordt onder andere je 2Mmol en 4Mmol hartslag bepaald, met andere woorden, je “aerobe” en “anaerobe” drempel. Ook de overslagpols kan berekend worden.

Meestal houdt zo’n test in dat je om de 3 minuten een hoger wattage moet trappen, na een rustige opwarming.Bij elke 3 minuten-stap wordt er in je oor geprikt en wat bloed afgenomen. Hieruit wordt het melkzuurgehalte bepaald. Natuurlijk wordt ook je hartslag gemonitord, en eventueel je zuurstofverbruik en ademvolume, waardoor men de VO2 MAX kan bepalen In principe gaat zo’n test tot ‘de uitputting’, het laatste blokje van 3 minuten dat je kan volmaken bepaald dan ook je maximale hartslag.

La Ronde Picarde 2009

Het is inmiddels september, de herfst en de najaarsklassiekers staan voor de deur. Na de Marmotte heb ik geen cyclo meer gereden, enkel getraind met La Ronde Picarde als doel. Vrijdagochtend, de dag voor de rit, vertrek ik met m’n pa naar Abbeville om me daar in te schrijven. Daar krijg ik ook een uitnodiging voor een diner de avond na de rit waarbij de prijswinnaars van de Grande Trophee in het zonnetje worden gezet. Lijkt me leuk om eens te zien.

Two weeks ago I read an article about the Garmin 705 in my monthly cycling magazin Fiets. I got really enthousiastic and after a few days of contemplating I decided to get one. Wohoo! The day I received the Garmin was also the day I did my first ride, attaching the device to my bike was almost like plug and play. You can run into the problem when you want to deploy a VM from a template the options are greyed out, even after
restarting the vCenter services.
